Parkside Plantings

As part of its 1988 agreement with the city and in an effort to beautify the park, the SRPCG maintains an approximately 350' perennial border directly adjacent to the park and outside of the garden fence. The chairs of the Parkside Plantings Committee are responsible for the overall design, the upkeep, and the movement and planting of all material in the border. Additional volunteers from the garden and the community are responsible for watering, weeding, and removal of spent blossoms in particular sections of the border. The Parkside Plantings Committee also holds open workdays approximately twice per month during the growing season at which time all are welcome and encouraged to attend.
